Category Overview
Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
The Town of Eatonville used this grant to construct a 2.3 mile non-motorized multi-use trail measuring 10 feet in width between the Town of Eatonville and the UW Pack Forest. The trail begins at the Eatonville School District playfields near the Town Center and ends at Pack Forest. The project included signage and landscaping, and two 12-foot wide pedestrian bridges over the Mashel and Little Mashel rivers. The entire legnth of the trail is crushed rock. The primary recreation opportunity provided by the project is non-motorized trail use.
