The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

The South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District used this grant to acquire a 35 +/- acre property adjacent to our Community Park for the purpose of outdoor recreation. The acquired property was parcel #R32915-475-3790.

Location Details

From the Clinton Ferry Terminal, take Highway 525 north to Maxwelton Road. Turn Right onto Maxwelton Road and turn Right into Community Park. After entering Community Park, turn right past the basketball court and follow the park road around past the concession stand and the four baseball/softball fields. The aceess to the worksite will be on your right just south of all four baseball/softball fields.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
