Project Highlights

The completion of the Skate park has far exceeded our expectations. It has proved to be a gathering place for our skateboarders, and other wheeled vehicles. The new location of the Skate Park has improved its accessibility and visibility to the community. Aesthetically it adds to the beauty of our Eastside Park. This project allowed for the demolishing and removal of an obsolete failing skate park and built a new concrete skate park in a more suitable location. Initial design was completed by the city prior to seeking grant funding. Upon funding, final specifications and contract documents were developed. The project was bid and awarded. The contractor cleared and grubbed the site under observation of the Colville History and Archeology department. The contractor built the concrete park in in accordance with the plans and specifications without deviation. Work observation and contract compliance was administered by the city’s contract engineers. Upon completion of the project Public Works installed a connecting gravel path form the adjacent walking path, and hung the appropriate RCO Signs.
