The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

This project completed the development of Hale Park to create an active and passive use recreation amenity for the community. This project created a unique skate park that features elements for all ages and abilities with a bowl that is shaped like an apple. The skate park has proven to be a very popular amenity both for residents and visitors to the community, drawing people from across the country to skate it. A restroom was added to the park as was a picnic shelter. Play equipment designed for creative and active play was added to the park. A new walkway was added which extends from the parking lot through the park and connects all of the features. Park security lighting and cameras were added. The park was planted with grass and fourteen shade trees planted.

From Highway 2 entering Wenatchee from the North. Travel south on Wenatchee Avenue to 5th Street and turn left. At the roundabout turn right and travel to the end of the street. The park site will be on your right.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
