Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.

This agreement is to capture the transfer of one tax parcel (0619286001) containing 1.47 acres from Pierce County to the Town of Wilkeson via Bargain and Sale Deed recorded on 9/27/2013 under Pierce County Auditors File No. 201309270105. The parcel was originally acquired by the County under project #98-1187A; it is a portion of the Llewellyn property and is designated as Parcel B in the Legal Descriptions of the County’s original Deed and Deed of Right. The Town of Wilkeson intends to use the property for outdoor recreation, including a skatepark.

From Olympia on I-5 north to the Hwy 512 turnoff, take Hwy 512 to Pioneer exit, take Pioneer to Route 162, Take Route 162 to Route 165. Take Route 165 toward Wilkeson. the property will be on the right at the intersection of 163rd St E just a few blocks before the town center.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
