Category Overview
The State Lands Restoration and Enhancement category provides funding to two state agencies to help repair damaged plant and animal habitat. These grants focus on resource preservation and protection of public lands. Projects in this category help bring important natural areas and resources back to their original functions by improving the self sustaining and ecological functionality of sites.
Project Highlights
WDFW will use this project to restore 0.87 miles of in-channel habitat and 82 acres of floodplain, riparian, and grassland/meadow habitats on the recently-acquired Teanaway Valley Unit of the L.T. Murray Wildlife Area. This will be done through removal of one culvert, placement of 10 in-channel structures, planting riparian and upland vegetation, and non-native plant removal and control. The primary habtiat restored is in-stream, floodplain, and Riparian Protection.
