Project Highlights
Kenneydell Park is one of 3 freshwater swim areas in Thurston County. Over 90,000 people visited the part in its first year of operation. The acquisition of this addition in 1997 increased the Kenneydell Park site from 18 acres to 41 acres. This site will provide for much needed additional parking, provide for additional picnic areas and trails, and provide for one softball and one soccer field. it features Fish Pond Creek, which runs through the center of the property. There is approximately 5 acres of forested wetlands associated with the creek. The site is close in proximity to Black Lake Elementary School. No other parks are located in the area. This project will meet the need for additional recreational facilities for Kenneydell Park and provide for much needed athletic fields in the county.
