Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The Peltola property would add approximately 14 acres to an existing 35 acres assembled by the City of Bellevue over the last six years for a future community park south of I-90. This property is located in one of the fastest growing residential areas of the City. It is presently used for pastureland and helps form the headwaters to Lewis Creek, an identified salmon spawning stream which flows into Lake Sammamish. In 1992, the IAC participated in the acquisition of the Robertson Property which is now part of the City’s holding adjacent to the subject site.
