Category Overview
Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
This project will acquire a 4.27-acre neighborhood park in a rapidly growing residential area known as Maple Crest. This project provides the only park site in the Maple Crest service area, which has a population of 4,670. The site includes gently rolling terrain with mature Douglas fir along the south boundary and is ideal for neighborhood park development. Future improvements will include walkways, play equipment, picnic tables, sports court, and open play meadows.
