Category Overview
Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The City of Republic will use this grant funding for the acquisition of donated land and the development of a professionally designed and built public concrete skate park. The park will be located adjacent to the Golden Tiger Trail and will be across from the Republic School Complex. The park will accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels to be used by skateboards, BMX bicycles, scooters, and inline skates. The primary recreational opportunity provided by this grant project is skateboarding.
