Category Overview
Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The City of Snoqualmie will use this grant to develop an all-inclusive regional 10,000 square foot playground at Centennial Fields Park. Improvements include 15 play equipment pieces (including tactile and musical play equipment) all designed to provide wheelchair access and assist other impairments. This grant will also fund perimeter fencing for safety and parking lot improvements to designate additional handicap spaces. The primary recreation opportunity provided by this project is a universally-accessible outdoor play experience.
