The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The City of Lakewood has completed the proposed acquisition and development improvements to Springbrook Park as outlined in the original project proposal. The first phase acquired an 1.2 acre parcel of land adjacent to Springbrook Park. This was followed by the development phase that included demolishing an existing house and garage, installing habitat enhancements along the creek bank; installing interpretive signage, playground equipment with accessible surfacing, and family picnic facilities with a new shelter. Other infrastructure upgrades included new pathways; new fencing; community garden beds; parking lot repaving with ADA parking striping and signage; and park furnishings including benches, picnic tables, grills, and trash receptacles.
