State Parks grants help preserve and develop our state’s best outdoor recreation areas by funding new campgrounds and amenities to increase the capacity of our parks, creating new parks, improving park resources, and protecting historical areas. These grants help our state continue to develop our world-class parks system to share our cultural heritage and natural treasures with all of its visitors.

Project Highlights

Washington State Parks will use this grant to acquire the Yockey property adjacent to Pearrygin Lake State Park. The property is roughly 24 acres, bisected by Bear Creek Road, and includes shoreline on the north side of Pearrygin Lake. The primary goal of this project is to protect lakeshore and habitat as well as expand outdoor recreation.

Location Details

Property is split both north and south of Bear Creek Road. The north side does not have a formalized access point. The south portion of the property can be accessed by a primitive drive just after the Silverline Campground if coming from E Chewuch Road.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
