The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

Kubota Garden’s first permanent restroom, located near the Terrace Overlook is complete. The restroom will includes two gender-neutral restrooms and a storage room. The design of the structure, including the roofing and stucco finish, echoes the ornamental wall surrounding of the main entry gate. The overall form and colors fit with the Garden’s natural setting. There is an improved accessible pathway from the parking lot to the Terrace Overlook and an accessible picnic area complete with new picnic tables and a visual connection to the surrounding garden.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
