Jenkins Creek Trail Phase 1

Category Overview

Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.

Project Highlights

The City of Covington will use this grant to acquire 0.1 miles of trail easement and develop/renovate 0.8 miles of paved trail. This project will connect SE 264th Place to Highway 516 through Jenkins Creek Park by building new trail sections and renovating existing trail sections. The trail will include a viewpoint, fencing, signs, site furnishings, and landscaping. The primary recreation opportunity provided by this project is non-motorized trail use.
