Local Parks grants help protect these symbols of vibrant communities, providing places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

This project will construct park improvements in a 25-acre grassed open community neighborhood park. These improvments will be limited to one new restroom, playground equipment, picnic shelter, walkways, 1/2 mile of trail, park furniture, trees, related utilities and parking. To date the project is partialy funded and the City will construct the above improvments as funds and feasability allow.

Location Details

Enter on SR-240 and exit at Columbia Center Blvd. Proceed south past the mall. Shortley past the 4th Avenue signal the park will be on your right (west). The park site is accessed from W. 4th and from W. 10th Avenue.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
