Green River Gorge Icy Creek Ridge Phase 3

Category Overview

State Parks grants help preserve and develop our state’s best outdoor recreation areas by funding new campgrounds and amenities to increase the capacity of our parks, creating new parks, improving park resources, and protecting historical areas. These grants help our state continue to develop our world-class parks system to share our cultural heritage and natural treasures with all of its visitors.

Project Highlights

Washington State Parks will use this grant to acquire approximately 37 acres in the Icy Creek Ridge area of the Green River Gorge Conservation Area near the city of Black Diamond. This is the third phase of a high priority acquisition project that will eventually lead to development of a trail along the south rim of the gorge, between Kanaskat-Palmer State Park and Flaming Geyser State Park. The primary recreation opportunity provided by this project will be non-motorized trail use.
