Grayland Beach State Park Residential Acquisition

Category Overview

State Parks grants help preserve and develop our state’s best outdoor recreation areas by funding new campgrounds and amenities to increase the capacity of our parks, creating new parks, improving park resources, and protecting historical areas. These grants help our state continue to develop our world-class parks system to share our cultural heritage and natural treasures with all of its visitors.

Project Highlights

State Parks acquired the Smith Property adjacent to Grayland Beach State Park. The .38 acre parcel includes a 2433 square foot residential dwelling built in 1969. Significant updates and improvements were made to the property before Parks acquired it. The property also includes a detached garage that was constructed on the existing boundary line. Acquiring this property remedied that boundary encroachment as well as an easement to the property that was in question. In addition the previous landowner had cleared, mowed and claimed an area beyond the backyard boundary line as part of the yard which was used for yard waste burning & RV parking. This acquisition remedied that ongoing trespass as well. Prior to closing the septic tank was pumped and inspected in addition to building inspection completed by Pillar to Post Home Inspection Service.
