Fohn Land III LLC

Category Overview

Farmland Preservation protects valuable farmland and habitat for recreationally important animals, like salmon, birds, deer, and elk. These projects allow families to continue farming the land they have worked on for generations, and provide Washingtonians with healthy local food and a diverse economy. WWRP is the only source of farmland preservation funding in the state budget.

Project Highlights

Skagit County used this grant to purchase one development right on 40 acres of farmland via an agricultural conservation easement. The Fohn Family farm is located in the heart of the Skagit Delta just east of the town of LaConner, WA. This farm is primarily a dairy but also produces crops that include grass for silage (greenchop) and corn, potatoes and spinach.
