The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

Acquisition and development of approximately 4.62 acres for a neighborhood park in Kent’s East Hill area. Area is surrounded by high density residential development, and the park will provide much needed open space and recreation areas.

Location Details

Take Kent Des Moines exit off of Interstate 5 and proceed east to S. Central. Turn left on S. Central and then right on Smith Street. Go to the top of the hill and turn left on 104th Avenue SE. Turn right on S 248th Street for approximately one block. The park site will be on your left.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
