Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.

Project Highlights

The City of Camas will use this grant to renovate the Lacamas Creek Trailhead located in the southern portion of Lacamas Lake Regional Park in Clark County. The City will install a new ADA restroom, utilities, ADA accessible pathways, picnic areas, signs, and site furnishings including picnic tables, benches, bike racks, trash receptacle, and dog waste stations. The City will also pave the parking area and improve landscaping and stormwater drainage. The primary recreation opportunities provided through this grant are passive recreation and nonmotorized use.

Location Details

S Lacamas Creek Trailhead is located approximately 15 miles east of Vancouver, WA. From downtown Vancouver, travel east along Highway 14 and take Exit 12, NW 6th Ave in Camas. Take second exit off roundabout, travel east on NW 6th Ave approximately one mile, toward Camas city center, turn right on Adams Street and then left onto NE 3rd Ave, trailhead will be on the left in a little less than a mile.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
