The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

The City of Washougal will use this grant to develop the Towncenter Park portion of the Washougal Towncenter Revitalization (WTR) project. This project will convert and underutilized area in the heart of downtown by developing a park with a playground, splash pad, covered seating, lighting, landscaping, and site furnishings. The primary recreation opportunity provided by this project is active and passive outdoor recreation.

Location Details

From State Route 14, turn north on the Washougal River Road. Turn right (east) on C Street. The property is on the left where Washougal City Hall is located. The property is relatively flat and the site has the Community Center, Library, Senior Center, 2 houses owned by the City, vacant land and City Hall.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
