Category Overview
Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. Project Highlights
The City of Camas seeks funding to improve trailhead facilities at Lacamas Creek trailhead on the south end of Lacamas Lake Regional Park. The proposed project will make improvements to existing trailhead including paved parking, restroom building, ADA accessible pathways, picnic areas, signage, landscaping, and stormwater improvements. With limited parking at the main entry of Lacamas Lake Regional Park, these trailhead improvements will help improve access on the south end of the park and allow for greater accessibility to the park. The trailhead leads into Lacamas Creek trail and a regional trail system through the Lacamas Regional Park to the north; and to the south, the Washougal River Greenway Trail. The extensive trails system through Lacamas Region Park leads hikers to other trail connections such as Heritage Trail on the south shores of Lacamas Lake; Fallen Leaf Lake trail through the forested land surround the lake; and an urban trail through the City called the Mill Ditch Trail totaling more than 15 miles of trail.
