Category Overview
State Parks grants help preserve and develop our state’s best outdoor recreation areas by funding new campgrounds and amenities to increase the capacity of our parks, creating new parks, improving park resources, and protecting historical areas. These grants help our state continue to develop our world-class parks system to share our cultural heritage and natural treasures with all of its visitors.
Project Highlights
This project will acquire an approximately 17-acre parcel in Clallam County on the Hoko River, within the long-term boundary of Hoko River State Park. This property is ecologically critical for the protection and restoration of the Hoko River and its floodplain. State Parks is working with partners to improve salmon and wildlife habitat along the Hoko River, and this acquisition will help facilitate a restoration project as well as provide opportunities for low impact recreational use.
