Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
The City of Olympia will use this grant to construct an approximately 3,500 lineal foot asphalt multi-modal, ADA trail through Grass Lake Nature Park from Kaiser Road to a gravel City of Olympia maintenance road that leads to Harrison Ave. Project scope includes site preparation, 400-ft boardwalk, trailhead and parking, an information kiosk, interpretive signage, and habitat enhancement. The primary recreation opportunity provided by this project will be safe, sustainable non-motorized trail use.
