Category Overview
Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
The City of Mukilteo constructed a 3,400 linear foot (.64 mile) nature trail in Big Gulch to finish a 2 mile trail system. Development included construction of a 3 to 4 foot wide trail, 2 rest points, interpretive signs and entry structures. The trail is designed to accommodate walkers, hikers, and bicyclists. The primary recreation opportunity provided by the project is non-motorized trail use.
