Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
Clallam County, Western Federal Lands and the National Park Service completed this project which reconstructed 1/2 mile of historic Spruce Railroad Trail at Lake Crescent including the 450 foot long McFee Tunnel at Lake Crescent. The parking area at the Lyre River Trailhead was also expanded and improved in this project and will be further expanded and paved as part of the East Beach Road Reconstruction Project which is currently in construction. The project was officially opened to the public at a ribbon cutting ceremony held on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
