Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
This project represents the second phase of Riverfront Trail development for the City of Castle Rock. The project includes a restroom and expanded parking at the Northwest Trailhead, and 4,000 feet of gravel trail on the west side of the Cowlitz River. A second restroom and additional parking will be established at Lyons Park, which is the southern terminus of the first phase of the Riverfront Trail, located on the east side of the River. Benches, picnic tables, signage and habitat enhancement are also included in this project.
