Category Overview
Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
This proposal is to construct a trailhead (35 vehicle capacity), with restroom, information board, interpretive sign and trail connection to provide safe public access to the Little Si hiking trail and rock climbing area. This project solves a long standing health and safety issue by providing direct public access to one of the region’s most popular recreation areas within 45 minutes of Seattle. The proposal was identified as the number one priority in the Mount Si Public Use Plan. The proposed trailhead will be constructed within the NRCA thus omitting crossing of private property.
