Category Overview
Trails grants help communities and recreation areas fund the creation and improvement of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. These grants help make communities more livable, create regional trails systems, and open up beautiful outdoor spaces for people to enjoy. WWRP is the largest source of trail support in the state of Washington.
Project Highlights
This project involves the acquisition and development of a 2 mile pedestrian and bicycle trail on the west shore of Lacamas Lake and Lacamas Creek in southeast Clark County. The trail connects to an existing 8 mile trail system which extends south into 298-acre Lacamas Lake Regional Park and the Washougal River Greenway. This regional trail system will serve both the Camas and Vancouver urban areas, which have a combined service area population of over 200,000 residents. The trail corridor provides almost continuous waterfront access, and enhances a wide variety of recreation opportunities including fishing, picnicking, and wildlife observation.
