The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The Peninsula Metropolitan Park District used this grant to purchase Knight Forest, an 18.79-acre property located on 70th Ave NW, just north of and adjacent to Harbor Family Park on the Gig Harbor Peninsula. The primary recreation opportunity provided by the prperty will be passive trail use. The Knight Forest property will add trails, natural areas, and habitat components to the adjoining Harbor Family Park site which will have ball fields and other active recreation elements.
