The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.

Project Highlights

The City of Everett used this grant to renovate approximately four acres of Sen. Henry M. Jackson Park. Standard concrete and pervious concrete pathways were installed ensuring compliance with ADA accessibility to all elements. New elements include open space, a basketball court, playground, benches, and community garden plots. Additional grant funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce helped fund new restrooms, a new picnic shelter, renovation of the old picnic shelter, picnic tables and a garden building located in the community garden. The primary outdoor recreation opportunity remains active play.

From the North: Take I-5 South and merge onto WA-529 S/Yellow Ribbon Hwy via EXIT 198 toward N. Broadway/Port of Everett. Take the WA-529 S ramp. Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Keep right at the fork to go on E. Marine View Drive. Turn right onto Walnut Street. Turn left onto 18th Street. Continue two blocks. The park is on the left. Park address is 3302 18th Street, Everett, WA. From the South: Take I-5 North to the Marine View Drive exit, EXIT 195. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto E. Grand Avenue. (E. Grand Avenue. is also called E. Marine View Drive). Go under I-5 and continue one block. Turn left onto Summit Ave. (the east side of the park is immediately on your right but is not part of this application). Continue one block to 19th Street. Turn right and go two blocks to State Street. Turn right and go one block to the park. Park address is 3302 18th Street, Everett, WA.

What is the WWRP

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
