The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
Project Highlights
The City of Olympia used this grant to construct a sprayground at Lions Park, located at 800 Wilson St SE in Olympia. Development included the construction of the sprayground facility and a mechanical building to house the equipment. The project included modifications to the existing restroom building to address accessibility deficiencies, construction of accessible walkways, street frontage and parking improvements, implementation of stormwater infrastructure and pedestrian lighting. The primary recreation opportunity provided by the project will be active aquatic play as well as enhancements in park safety, access and aesthetics.
