Celebrating the WWRP at the Governor’s Mansion

January 23, 2024

On January 18, 2024 over 100 outdoor enthusiasts gathered at the Governor’s Mansion to celebrate the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) and the record-setting $120 million allocated by the Legislature in 2023. We would like to thank Governor Jay Inslee and Trudi Inslee for welcoming and graciously hosting all of us in their home. We enjoyed listening to Governor Inslee’s support of the WWRP and his reminder that it’s our responsibility to help protect the beautiful land in Washington State from climate change.

Governor Inslee also presented Mark Brown, former WA State Parks and Recreation Commissioner, with the honor of “Person of the Day” for his service and dedication to WA State Parks. We finished the night mingling with WA Wildlife and Recreation Coalition partners, legislators, and champions of the WWRP.

We would like to thank our annual sponsors for the event and everyone who attended and braved the wet weather. If you could not attend, we missed you, and we hope you can feel the support for the WWRP through our talented photographer Patrik Bangle.
