Local Legislators Tour Kiwanis Park and Boardwalk

October 5, 2016

[Seattle, WA] The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition (WWRC) is pleased to invite the Mount Vernon community to a project tour of Kiwanis Park and Boardwalk on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 4:00 PM PST.

Members of the community will join local legislators Senator Bailey and Representative Smith, along with Mount Vernon Mayor Jill Boudreau, to tour the park and boardwalk and discuss the evolution of this community asset. Located in one of the most populated neighborhoods in Mount Vernon, Kiwanis Park is a popular destination for families and offers recreational opportunities within city limits.

Two grants from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) helped make this park a reality, allowing for the construction of a basketball court, a Little League field, a multi-purpose field, a picnic shelter, restrooms, a children’s spray park, and an ADA-accessible boardwalk through local wetlands.

The tour will include remarks from Senator Bailey, Representative Smith, Mayor Jill Boudreau, and WWRC board members. To learn more about the event and RSVP, e-mail Lou-Anne Daoust-Filiatrault at LouAnne@WildlifeRecreation.org.
