Development of a pedestrian trail between the ferry terminal at the Point Defiance Boathouse and Owen Beach. Park improvements are designed to provide direct access to the shoreline, including improvements for universal access.

Location

I-5 to State Route 16. West on SR16 to Route 163. North to the entrance of Point Defiance Park. There are signs along the highway providing directions to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. The project site is along the waterfront between the Boathouse and Owens Beach. When driving, turn left at the ferry landing and continue beyond the pedestrian overpass to the parking lot at the boathouse and tackle shop.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
