Status
Funded in 2005
WWRP Applicant: State Parks WWRP Category: State Parks WWRP Grant: $1,299,655 Project Type: Acquisition County: Okanogan  Legislative District: 12th

Pearrygin Lake State Park is a 584-acre camping park in the Methow Valley in north central Washington. The park features expansive green lawns leading to 7,500 feet of waterfront on Pearrygin Lake. The lake offers swimming, fishing and boating. The Lakeshore Acquisition for Pearrygin Lake State Park addresses lands adjacent to the southwest shoreline of Pearrygin Lake totaling 84.1 acres. The lands would be purchased to preserve the scenic landscape viewshed from the existing and future park developments and develop a trail system around Pearrygin Lake. Acquisition of lands will prevent implementation of a rural subdivision, currently platted along the Pearrygin Lake shoreline.

RCO Project Number: 04-1198

Location

The project is located along the southwest shore of Pearrygin Lake. Pearrygin Lake is located one mile northeast of Winthrop, Washington. From downtown Winthrop, travel north on Riverside Avenue, turn right on Bluff Street. After a short distance Bluff Street becomes East Chewuch Road. Turn right on Bear Creek Road and follow signs to Lake Ridge subdivision development.

State Senators cherry pick projects, ignore WWRP rankings

The State Senate's proposed budget slashes Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program funding to almost half of what Governor Inslee recommended while favoring poorly ranked projects over highly ranked ones. The WWRP's independent ranking system is the key to its years of success, ensuring only the best projects get funded. Take action & urge your legislators to restore full funding today!

LWCF full funding bill reintroduced

Sens. Baucus (MT), Burr (NC), and Wyden (OR) & 4 cosponsors have introduced a new bill, the “Land and Water Conservation Authorization and Funding Act of 2013,” to provide full, permanent and dedicated funding for LWCF. Please join us in asking Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray to renew their support and once again co-sponsor the bill!
