Puyallup will use this grant to buy 72 acres for a community park in southeast Puyallup. The land is the last available site in the Puyallup Valley that will accommodate a community park. When developed, the park will have athletic fields, play equipment, and a connection to Puyallup's Riverwalk Trail and Pierce County's Foothills Trail. Puyallup will contribute $5.8 million in cash and donations of cash and land.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
