Game Farm Park Soccer Field Renovation

Auburn will use this grant to renovate two fields at Game Farm Park into fields with synthetic turf. The fields, built in the 1980s, are below standard and non-performing. Renovations will include removing the existing field surface, re-grading the site, adding a drainage system, installing new turf and paving a perimeter trail. Installation of two turf fields will improve play and safety and allow more use. With the new design, the fields will provide up to four times the hours of available playing time. Auburn will contribute more than $1 million in donations and grants. This was the top ranked project of 69 competing for funding in the local parks category of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program.

The Game Farm Park is located in Section 29, Range 21 Township 5. From I-5 going north from Tacoma take the Hwy 18 Exit East and head east on Hwy 18. Take the Auburn Black Diamond exit off ramp, at the end of the off ramp you will be a stop light. At the light turn left on to Auburn Way South.Take Auburn Way south to ""M"" Street SE turn right on ""M"" street. Stay on ""M"" street until you reach 29th Street and a 4 way stop. What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
