The Wenatchee World investigates the effect not having a Capital Budget will have on local projects.
Excerpt: “The capital budget also funds the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program. Several projects, totaling $6.4 million, are slated for North Central Washington, including money for Castle Rock acquisition, Hale Park construction and Kiwanis Methow Park revitalization in Wenatchee as well as floodplain protection at Sleepy Hollow and acquisition of East Wenatchee 9th Street property.
Danica Johnson, spokeswoman for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition, said if the capital budget is not passed until 2018, all of these projects will be delayed by at least a year and many project opportunities may be lost entirely.”
