Roslyn to Teanaway Project Tour

THIS EVENT HAS PASSED. See our upcoming events page for future opportunities to support the Coalition and join project tours or ribbon cuttings.

The proposed Roslyn to Teanaway Regional Trail System project is an important site to showcase because it addresses the high priority recreational and public access needs in Kittitas County through the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP). The project, sponsored by the City of Roslyn, builds upon the vision to create recreational connectivity between the surrounding communities to adjacent public lands. The project also provides an opportunity to experience Central Washington in a way that has not before been available by linking existing trail corridors from Roslyn, the Teanaway Community Forest, and the Yakima River valley all the way through to Leavenworth.

Directions: The Cle Elum Overlook is located at coordinates 47.239375, -120.973482 along Main Ridge Road. From Basecamp Books & Bites in Roslyn, head northeast on W Pennsylvania avenue and turn right at the first cross street onto WA-903 S/S 1st St. Continue to follow WA-903 S for about 4.0 miles until you reach  the traffic circle and take the 2nd exit to stay on WA-903 S. Then, turn left onto Alliance Road. At the end of the pavement on Alliance Road there will be a gated road on the left. Follow this road until you reach the second gate about 1.5 miles later and turn left.  There will be a slight right to remain on the road. At the following fork in the road about 1.7 miles later, keep right. Turn left onto Main Ridge Rd and follow it for about 0.7 miles until you reach the overlook. Look for event signs and parking.
Parking in Roslyn: We will be meeting at Basecamp Books & Bites in Roslyn and carpooling from there. There is street parking available on W Pennsylvania Avenue and additional spaces behind the Roslyn City Hall and Public Works shop where guests can leave their vehicles. Guests should specify their carpooling preferences in their RSVP.
Parking on the Ridge: There is also parking available along the Main Ridge Road near the overlook.  If needed, the road is also wide enough to park cars in each direction and there are places to turn around.
