2026 Parks & Great Outdoors Legislative Day

Following a three-month support agenda and advocacy planning process led by our State Policy Committee and adopted by our Board, the Coalition has decided that our Legislative Day in 2026 will look a little different – we will not have a statewide public engagement effort on our January 27th Parks and Great Outdoors Legislative Day. Instead, our Board, Coalition staff, key stakeholders and constituents, and our lobbyist team, will dedicate all advocacy time to strategic and targeted meetings with key legislators, ensuring ongoing support, coalition building, and continued robust funding for the WWRP.

Read more about our decision, how we’re approaching this “fast and furious session,” and how you can stay engaged. You can also reach out to Nathaniel Rees, our Policy and Communications Manager, with questions about our legislative session approach.

We also encourage you to register for two upcoming events:

  1. Please register for our 2026 Parks and Great Outdoors Legislative Reception on January 21 at the Governor’s Mansion! Registration closes Friday, January 9.
  2. Please register for WRPA’s annual Parks and Great Outdoors Legislative Day Panel Discussion with budget leaders on January 27 from 12:30-1pm.
