Today, the City of Bremerton celebrated a major milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Haddon Park, marking the launch of a long-awaited renovation project that will transform this beloved community space. Thanks to nearly $940,000 in grant funding from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) and the Youth Athletic Facilities (YAF) program, the new improvements will ensure that the park continues to serve as a vibrant and inclusive hub for active recreation.

Haddon Park’s renovation – supported by a total investment of more than $1.7 million – includes a fully enhanced multi-use sports court, a new picnic shelter, accessible pathways, and a renovated children’s playground, restroom, and parking area. These upgrades are designed to make the park more welcoming and usable for people of all ages and abilities, while promoting healthy, outdoor activity for the entire community.
This project was made possible by the WWRP’s Local Parks category, which helps communities across Washington protect and revitalize neighborhood parks – those everyday places where families gather, kids play, and residents connect with nature just steps from home. As Washington’s largest source of local parks funding, the WWRP plays a vital role in creating healthier, happier communities.
We’re thrilled to see the City of Bremerton investing in the future of Haddon Park and grateful to the many partners who made today’s celebration possible. Here’s to a revitalized park that will serve generations to come!
