A Budget Victory for Embattled Conservation Program

On Wednesday, the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) received $306 million in a $1.1 trillion omnibus appropriations bill passed by the House of Representatives on 359-67 vote.

Excerpt: “The bill includes money to protect both salmon habitat and working forest land from the Physht River along the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Klickitat Canyon near the Columbia River, and to the upper Yakima Basin in the Cascades.”
