A Montana native, Christine has been with the Coalition for two years, serving as Philanthropy Director. Prior to joining the Coalition, Christine spent almost a decade working with nonprofits in the “other” Washington, including the Atlantic Council, Issue One, and the PenFed Foundation. In addition to leading efforts on individual, corporate, and foundation fundraising, Christine managed diverse boards of up to 150, bipartisan coalitions, and membership programs. Christine has always been passionate about the outdoors, from her days playing youth soccer to backpacking and hiking in the Shenandoah and Olympics as an adult, she is delighted to bring her years of experience to help preserve and protect Washington’s great outdoors.
The Coalition’s Board of Directors is confident in Christine’s experience and ability to build on the great work of former Executive Director, Andrea McNamara Doyle. The Coalition bid farewell to Andrea at the end of January 2018, with great respect and gratitude for all of her hard work for the organization. Andrea served as Executive Director during a time of great change at the Coalition, through legislative updates to the WWRP, staff changes, and much more. Thank you, Andrea, for everything!
This month, the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition welcomed Christine Mahler as the new Executive Director!
“I am thrilled to begin this new chapter with the Coalition, continuing the long legacy of protecting our state’s wildlife and creating recreational opportunities for Washingtonians from all walks of life and all corners of the state,” said Christine. “It is an honor to lead such a well-respected coalition of advocates, conservationists, farmers, businesspeople, outdoor sports enthusiasts, and more.”
