State Parks at Risk in Capital Budget Holdup

Excerpt: “On a trail at Saint Edward State Park Wednesday, Jeanette Leach paused to enjoy the sunshine and get what she considers some much needed time to clear her mind. ‘It keeps my mental health in excellent condition because I’m walking through the woods and my brain is clean,’ she said. For years the Kirkland consultant has trekked to the Kenmore park. Rain or shine, she hits the trails three times a week. But because of a state budget fiasco she worries that her beloved state park might face drastic cuts. The $4.2 billion capital budget remains in limbo after a stalemate in the Senate.”
