Fred Felleman and Willy Gevers Join Coalition Board!

May 21, 2026

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition is thrilled to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors: Fred Felleman and Willy Gevers.

Fred and Willy each bring decades of leadership, deep personal connections to Washington’s outdoors, and a strong commitment to conservation, recreation, and community stewardship. Their unique perspectives and experiences will help strengthen the Coalition’s work to protect and expand the parks, trails, wildlife habitat, and working lands that make Washington such a special place to live.

Fred Felleman

Fred Felleman currently serves his third term as a Commissioner for the Port of Seattle, where he has been a leading voice for environmental protection, clean energy, and sustainable economic development.

A marine mammal biologist and maritime consultant, Fred has spent more than 40 years working to protect the Pacific Northwest’s marine environment while helping develop policies that balance environmental stewardship, economic prosperity, and social equity. His leadership at the Port has helped advance initiatives including shore power expansion for cruise ships, renewable maritime and aviation fuels, solar energy installations, and greater energy efficiency across Port operations.

Fred lives in Ballard with his wife, Amy, and spends time in the San Juan Islands, where he remains closely connected to the waters and ecosystems that inspire his public service.

Willy Gevers

Willy Gevers is the president of Gevers Wealth Management, LLC, an Issaquah-based advisory firm serving multigenerational families through investment, retirement, and tax planning.

Willy’s life and career have long been shaped by a passion for the outdoors. Together, he and his wife Vivienne have backpacked more than 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail through Washington’s wilderness, and they remain active hikers, mountain bikers, anglers, and hunters. Willy is also deeply involved in community and faith-based service, currently serving as board president for Stronger Families and supporting charitable causes through Gevers Wealth Management’s Ten Percent Promise initiative.

“Wild places and the traditions built around them – fly-fishing a free-flowing river with your grandkids, calling in an elk at dawn, hiking or mountain biking a trail you’ve loved for decades – are worth fighting for,” said Willy.
