WWRP across the state

December 12, 2015

Nearly 100 people from across the state gathered at
local stakeholder meetings for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program
this past week. Local conservation
organizations, hunting and angling groups, small business owners, parks
planners, and outdoorspeople attended meetings in Yakima, Chelan, Issaquah,
Vancouver, and Spokane. Attendees learned more about all the  incredible things WWRP does for communities in
every corner of our state, how their community can benefit, and ways we can
continue to grow and support the program and our outdoor heritage. Many had
little prior knowledge of the WWRP or the Coalition, but left with a sense of
amazement about what WWRP has already done in their communities and excitement
about what is still yet to come.

We’re especially grateful to the Coalition member organizations who hosted these events – Trout Unlimited in Yakima and Chelan, Mountains to Sound Greenway in Issaquah, Columbia Land Trust in Vancouver, and Island NW Land Conservancy in Spokane.
