Give Big. Protect Big. Play Big

🎥 Hear from Yvonne Kraus as she shares what makes the Washington Wildlife & Recreation Coalition so special — and why the WWRP is essential to Washington’s future.

Tomorrow marks the start of GiveBIG, Washington’s annual day of giving — and we’re inviting you to stand with us in protecting the parks, wildlands, and cultural spaces that make our state extraordinary.

One powerful example of why your support matters is Kubota Garden in King County, a poetic landscape that blends serenity, history, and community.

Thanks to the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP), $500,000 in grant funding helped:

  • Expand ADA access and amenities at the 20-acre garden, including two new all-gender restrooms
  • Preserve an additional 22.5 acres of natural and cultural space
  • Support a space that offers volunteering, musical events, cultural education, and a peaceful refuge for thousands

“Kubota Garden is not just any old park. People discover this garden and get lost here.”

Joy Okazaki, Kubota Garden Foundation

Kubota Garden is a treasure on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish, Duwamish, Stillaguamish, and Muckleshoot peoples. It’s a place where people from all walks of life connect with nature and each other — and your gift ensures more places like this are protected for generations to come.

💡 Did you know? The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition doesn’t receive WWRP funding. Our small but mighty team of four works hard to secure state investments in projects like Kubota Garden — so your gift supports the whole network of public lands and recreation spaces across Washington.
