This month’s WWRP category is Local Parks. Local Park grants provide places for families to gather and play and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in an era when people spend increasing amounts of their time inside. The WWRP is the largest source of local parks funding in Washington, helping communities fund the acquisition, development, and renovation of vital recreation areas and green spaces.
The Hesse Park project, located in the city of Republic, includes installation of a pump track with an outer flat track, covered pavilion, fencing, a storage facility, landscaping, and associated utilities. Asphalt pump tracks are suitable for all size bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters and similar. Any and all ages can participate! This project is expected to be completed in 2022.
